We drove to Kansas City and visited the Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium. It’s a really tiny aquarium and perfect maybe for really, really small littles like our not-yet-12-month-old. But it’s too small for our toddler who is used to growing up with Adventure Aquarium. (See our post on Adventure Aquarium here). We thought we’d be able to spend half the afternoon there but could barely spend an hour there. It also didn’t help that it’s one way so you can’t go back to see things again once you’ve gone through. Same problem with bathrooms. They're at either end, so you have to either double back or go forward quickly without being able to go back to use a bathroom. What my toddler and I enjoyed doing together was being able to collect stamps at different stations.

We met an acquaintance for a play date and dinner.
It was way too hot to stay in the RV without being hooked up to electricity, so we booked two nights in a hotel so we could do laundry, take a normal shower, and relax. After a week on the road going from one place to another, I just needed to rest. Mama needed a place with blackout curtains for baby not to wake at the first site of sunlight. We decided to stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott in Overland Park Leawood (4081 Indian Creek Parkway). We ordered a lot of food from Tavern at Mission Farms and enjoy pure food and drink. We devoured and enjoyed all of it. Here’s what we ordered:

From enjoy pure food and drink:
Grilled Salmon and Kale Salad (photo top left) Salmon (not pictured) was on the smaller side but perfect for baby to eat along with the roasted beets. We asked for the salmon on the side since it would be something we'd be feeding the baby and I wouldn't have to go digging for it. We always order dressing on the side so everyone can eat it.

Santa Fe Chicken Salad (photo top and bottom right). Yummy salad. We preferred it without the vinaigrette.

Chips and Guacamole (photo bottom right) You can never go wrong.

And cold pressed juice (not pictured)

From Tavern at Mission Farms: (not pictured because we ate it right away and didn't have room on the table to take a photo)

Pork Osso Bucco and Risotto. Delicious. Flavors were great. Risotto still had a bit of hardness at the center of the rice grains.

Toddler loved sharing this with me.

Lemon Pepper Penne Pasta. It definitely had a kick of pepper

Cinnamon Sugarcoated Donuts

It was so good to be able to rest at a hotel and eat good food. We also had a chance to do some laundry with the Scrubba. Wonder how we do laundry on the go? Check out our post about it here and the product we use to do it here.
