Scrubba
06 Jul 2020
I was pregnant and we were preparing to be living in a hotel so that we could be close to the birthing center. Not knowing how long we’d be staying at the hotel and knowing they didn't have laundry facilities, I started researching how to do laundry without a machine. I can hand wash things but that would take too long. I was led to find this company called Scrubba. A couple days before we were scheduled to leave for the hotel, we tested it out with our toddler. We purchased the Wash and Dry Kit.
It comes in a small carry case and here’s what comes with it:
- Wash Bag
- Travel Towel
- Travel Clothes Line
- Inflatable Coat Hangers
You can find out details (measurements, how much you can wash in each one) on their website.
This is the outside and inside of the bag. The bumps are the wash board that helps clean your clothes.
You fill up the bag with your clothes and fill water to the line. Take the air out of the bag.
Rub the bag to wash, open it up and drain the water. Repeat.
Our toddler enjoyed helping us wash the laundry.
So far we like it. We’ll post more once we’ve used it a couple of times!
Customer service was prompt, whether it was Instagram or email. Just so you’re aware, this is information I received from them (dated June 28, 2020):
“Once an order is placed it can take 24 – 36 hours to get dispatched by our 3rd party fulfillment team. As we have a warehouse within the US, orders are typically delivered within 2 – 6 business days. Please note that the estimates are only provided by the carrier and often delivery can exceed their estimates. We are available in REI stores throughout the US…I would suggest calling them to see if they have a wash and dry kit in stock. Unfortunately, it appears that Amazon don’t offer the faster shipping option for the Scrubba wash and dry kit. However, the tactical wash and dry kit can arrive within 2 days.”
They have various sizes and again, more information can be found on their website.
UPDATE July 2021:
We never made it to the hotel because baby came couple hours before we were going to leave, so we didn’t have a chance to use it other than what we had posted. However, we did use it for our RV trip across the US. (See more about our trip here). Our toddler helped and it was easy to hang and dry. It was a great investment and we’ll use it again for any trips we take. It’s light, portable and easy to use. I highly recommend it!
